Target’s Cornell on Food, Promotions, & Execution

Source: (Supermarket News February 25, 2015)Cornell said a combination of products, promotions, holiday marketing, fulfillment capabilities and in-store execution drove profitable growth “in an intensely promotional environment,” with comps constant in all three months of the quarter. The digital channel contributed 0.9% to fourth-quarter comps and 0.7% to comps for the full year, the company pointed out, with mobile sales accounting for more than 40% of digital orders in the quarter. Learn more

Amazon has filed for patents on a system that would use truck-based 3D printers to quickly deliver customers’ bespoke orders, the Wall Street Journal reports. Such an idea could help the company more quickly deliver customers’ orders, assuming they’re able to be 3D-printed. Learn more
