POI Perspective
POI Pulse has since its inception, and for 416 consecutive issues always been personal to me.  It is one of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to our growing community.  I thank those of you for the counsel, and support this last week, and always. The recent events in Brussels are tragic, and everyone at the Promotion Optimization Institute is extremely saddened by these events.   Our thoughts are with all those affected.  They have POI’s commitment to proceed with the POI Global Summit as planned.  I ask for your support, as we move forward, and request those in our industry to join us at the POI Global Summit.  We are doing what we can to ensure everyone’s continued safety.  POI is donating 25% of CPG and Retailer Attendee registration fees for the Global Summit to the victims and families from Brussels, BE.  At the event, we will ask those who are part of the POI Community, what else can we do together.
We are now making final preparations for the upcoming POI Summit in Chicago on April 10-12.  We have room for 12 more manufacturers, and retailers. We’re just about at capacity for the upcoming POI Spring Summit. The agenda is complete, world-class, and packed with the tools you/your company need to adapt for success today! A few highlights:

82% of final purchase decisions are made in-store and measuring true in-store execution is more important than ever. This informative session will focus on pixel-perfect store execution and how Image Recognition is Transforming Retail Strategy and how ABI was able to cut cost, and achieve uplift up to 10% of sales through promotion optimization leveraging retail execution. Also, get a sneak peek of how a revolutionary smart cooler is changing the game of in-store execution for beverage brands. We assure you – it’s all kinds of cool!

Keynote: “Swinging for the Fences – Using Analytics as the Raw Material for Generating Business-relevant Insights“

Ron Gilson has been CIO at Johnsonville Sausage for 18 years, and will share his experiences from such an undertaking, including how it was originally conceived and sold into management, how the inevitable hurdles were overcome, and finally what the roadmap looks like for taking a traditional CP manufacturer towards digital transformation.
