POI Pulse October 1, 2018

We have just concluded the successful 3rd Annual POI Retail Execution Summit!

Presentations will be available to attendees and POI Members later this week here.
We hosted leading manufacturers and retailers including over 30% New Attendees (around strategies to get closer to shoppers, while driving sales).  Attendees from both sides of the stage benefited from best practices including presenters from PepsiCo, Mondelez, J&J, SAP, Constellation Brands, Kantar Consulting, Church and Dwight, AFS, Mars, Spring Global, EY SJU, and others on relevant subject matter including AI, Digital Transformation, OSA, RGM, & eCommerce.
Some comments from attendees include:
“Thank you so much for hosting this POI Summit. It was incredibly insightful to hear from the speakers on retail execution, how to customize promos successfully across different retailers, and how to simply partner successfully with retailers. It was an awesome 1.5 days!”
“Great experience! Nice to be able to discuss what is happening in the marketplace with others who understand.”
“This format is great. An exceptional opportunity to network and learn some new things!”

“Great meeting setup and focused audience allowed for many in-depth conversations and networking.” Especially where retail execution is headed next with physical retail, eCommerce, Click and Collect, and new commerce models like Amazon’s just opened 4- Star Concept Store in New York City.  POI visited the store in NYC.  Remember when “Showrooming” was considered the greatest threat to physical retail, and how a handful of retailers were beginning to rethink their strategies (reflect here).  Enter Amazon 4-Star with digital price tags next to items that show how much Prime members would save on a purchase, how many

ratings an item has received, what the average rating is, along with certain reviews on display throughout the store.
They even have a table in the store that shows items “frequently bought together,” something the company has always highlighted on its website.

The employees were a bit less engaged than the shoppers, but then again new store openings are never perfectly smooth.
See what’s “in-store” for you at the upcoming POI Summit in Dallas TX, November 7-9, 2018. As Manufacturers’ and Retailers’ can view the agenda, and register here!
